Our current estimate for Florida's population in 2018 is 21.31 million.  Florida is the third-most populous state in the United States.

​Louisiana is the 25th largest state within the US.  The United States Census Bureau estimates that the population of Louisiana was 4,670,724 on July 1, 2015.


  • Louisiana was named in honor of King Louis XIV, the King of France from 1643-1715.

  • There are almost half as many alligators as there are people in Louisiana.

  • Louisiana is the only US state with a large population of Cajuns, descendants of French colonists who settled the Canadian Maritime Provinces.

  • At 450 feet with 34 stories, Louisiana has the tallest state capitol building in the US.


Texas is the second most populous U.S. state, with an estimated 2017 population of 28.449 million.  


  • Texas is the only state to have the flags of 6 different nations fly over it. They are: Spain, France, Mexico, Republic of Texas, Confederate States, and the United States.

  • The King Ranch in Texas is bigger than the state of Rhode Island.

  • Austin is considered the live music capital of the world.

  • The City of Myrtle Beach is in the center of the Grand Strand, a 60-mile crescent of beach on the South Carolina coast. In the last 25 years, Myrtle Beach has developed into the premier resort destination on the East Coast.

  • The state dance of South Carolina is the Shag!

  • The first battle of the Civil War took place at Fort Sumter.
